Falling under Nissan's Electrify the World initiative, this experiential aims to open a conversation about the importance of renewable energy.
To help get people thinking harder about energy, we opened the world’s first “pay with energy” café.

In this unique space, you could not pay with cash, or credit card. The only accepted form of currency was energy. Customers generated their own by using pedals installed on the bar stools or stepping on special energy-capturing floor tiles. They could then exchange that energy for a sustainable coffee or other treats.
This pop up café was built in only 3 weeks and it has gathered 100s of guests, workshops and talks. Later on, the cafe was "exported" to other cities, including Germany and Chile.
