Graphic Design IV

The goal of this project was to compare a state and a country, which we received through a lottery drawing and then displayed as an infographic. I wanted to tell the story that I discovered during my research between Oklahoma in the U.S. and Mozambique Africa. I found that Mozambique was over populated and had a much lower income than Oklahoma which had less people and a higher income. I wanted to show the important information using the circles to bring the attention to the most intriguing information. I also chose to have the shape of the state and country to show the relation of the information to its proper place. I chose to use bright colors to relate it to an african like color scheme as well as something that would catch a person's attention so the viewer would want to investigate the information further. I also chose to use an icon of a human foot to represent the population rather than a whole human body because I felt that it was a better representation and it makes the viewer aware of the poverty in africa and the many african people who can't afford shoes. This infographic displays the information in a visually pleasing and interesting way.
