This assignment at IE required choosing a song and creating a typographic design with lyrics from the song.
Justice is a french electronic band of two. One of their songs is Audio, Video, Disco; an electronic song with only three distinct words: audio, video, and disco. Because the song name was the name of the album as well, i decided to create a vinyl cover with my design. The song goes from only music to the lyrics. This is how i got inspired to write down the sentence “audio, audio, audio, video, disco” and repeat it as many times as possible. The first few repetitions of this sentence are barely shown because the song starts out by only playing electronic sounds. As the song progresses, we start hearing the lyrics, louder and clearer. Another reason for the first few repetitions is the intensity of the music, fast and loud. The fact that the lines are so close to each other makes us feel this intensity. Lastly, the big white type: i want to emphasize on the fact that the song has only this lyrics, i want them to show clearly.
