British Airways - Redesign

I decided to redesign British Airways's mobile app by helping create a cleaner visual identity with the brand. Sticking with a simple white background with tiled icons works well but minimising the usage of their brand blue and red colours I felt was essential.

The current mobile app lets you book flights, view boarding passes and such account details.

I felt the need to add an extra feature which I feel is essential for the airline which was to provide a section to view videos and read details about planning trips. Think of this to be a TripAdvisor but solely reviewed by the airline as well as their customers. For example, if your flying to New Delhi, India, you can learn more about the city, find things to do and see and fantastic places to eat through videos and such descriptions.

Adding a Menubar at the bottom also improves the navigation and flow for the users. Currently the app has a menubar on the side which is activated by clicking the the top right icon.

Another feature I added was related to Augmented Reality. The ability to see the globe/world map, creating an interactive experience to understand your lifetime flying statistics and earning badges based on your flights is what I felt would bring another dimension to the current British Airways app.
