L&N Federal Credit Union Website
LNFCU's situation was a bit complicated. In 2013, I had created a new site for them, and in 2016 I had to cobble together a responsive version that stood by itself (due to third party integrations that were not responsive yet). In 2018, I was finally were able to start The Process on a new, fully-responsive site.
THE MEETING
While I built the first L&N website back in 1998, it has been updated a couple of times of the years.
In 2013, I did a complete re-design using design conventions and the coding technology of time but, by 2016, responsive design was fully integrated into the world and it became apparent that a new site was desperately needed. However, due to third-party app limitations, a fully-responsive site could not be developed until 2018. A "band-aid" was used and 2 separate sites were used (1 desktop, 1 mobile) until the vendors could work out their issues.

THE BRIEF
During meetings with various credit union department heads and VPs, we determined to:
- cull pages down from 300 to about 200 (less for mobile)

- refine the UI/UX to help members find the most used sections of the site (determined by analytics) and to cross-sell them other CU products.
- create a single, device-responsive site to give members the best possible experience no matter how they are viewing the site
- create better opportunities for inbound marketing initiatives
THE EXECUTION
Due to the lack of programming and coding knowledge in the marketing department at LNFCU, the decision was made to build the new site on the WordPress platform to better allow non-coding people to make changes & additions to the site as needed (when the Creative Director was not on-site).
THE RESULTS
This project is currently in the final stages of development and will be launching in the second quarter of 2019.
This is a great step towards a better experience for members, better retention rates for the website, and better conversions of inbound traffic.
