It was a year in the making but my first ever jewellery collection was released at the end of summer 2018.
2018 was an extremely ambitious and exciting year for me and my brand ALXNDRA. I completely stepped out of my comfort zone and attempted something I’ve always wanted to try; jewellery design. My father has always worked in the jewellery industry and I suppose I don’t really understand why I haven’t tried it sooner!
I wanted to create an initial collection that that was well rounded and at the core of it, inspired by classic traditional jewellery staples with a contemporary twist without abandoning my core skill set - illustration.
The first two pieces designed were the Skull Signet Ring and the Skull Hoop Earrings. This was a literal take on attempting to put a simple modern twist on some classic designs.
There was a large gap in designing between these two designs and the others due to manufacturing complications which is why I decided to push the deadline together and release them all together as a whole collection.
The main part of the collection simply started from one idea to deconstruct one of my favourite things; Japanese Ramen! Consistent sketching bore the fruits of my Ramen collection you see above!
All my jewellery is manufactured in the UK from solid sterling silver and hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office.
They’re also available in gold and rose gold plated styles with the base metal also being silver.
