Consciousness Transplant

Overview
Consciousness Transplant is an immersive, virtual reality (VR) experience, which enables users to visualize their consciousness and experience the process of re-embody to a new subject. I fulfilled this by having the user wear a VR headset and sit in a real wheelchair, strapped in, to mimic the scene featured in the virtual environment.
Inspired by White Christmas, an episode of the show Black Mirror, it's about extracting one’s consciousness and putting it onto a device. I was impressed, and terrified by the TV show. Hence, I utilized VR as a medium to explore this concept.
Storyline
The experience begins with a first-person perspective of someone being held in an operating room, with patients lying on tables and surgically-masked doctors milling about the room. The scene then fades to a colorful, galaxy-like, seemingly endless space before returning to the operating room, where the patients, including your first-person avatar, have been turned into robots.

How do I allow users to immerse into this VR experience?
Before they start, I onboard users onto a wheelchair, strapped in, to mimic the scene featured in the virtual environment. I intend to allow users to feel "presence" immediately by mapping same object from real world to virtual one. Besides, I using those discomforts to increase the tension of this experience.
