A WHOLE BASKET OF CONFERENCE COLLATERAL...
While visiting Idaho, I was brought on to a project to create some marketing material and in-conference video collateral for a local business conference happening in early spring. With the world as my oyster and only a vague inclination as to the end goals of the project, I set off gather drone footage and video clips to serve as the digital personality of the conference.

First, I made sure that the logo fit the feel of the conference. It's difficult to create text that is being crushed or "crushing it," without garnering something entirely too cheesy. So instead, I went with a 2D-3D-esk animation that allowed the letters and words to come in at their own angle and pace, essentially personifying the sorts of people that would be at the conference, gathering together for one single purpose. Animated in Adobe After Effects.
Then it was off to the beauty surrounding the Coeur d'Alene area to capture the feeling of the Northwest, since the conference itself is called "Crush It NW." This method just included grabbing a variety of shots during a variety of different times of day, including water, trees, roads, and Coeur d'Alene itself. These clips were then edited together with various shoots showing the speakers in their "natural environments." In this way, the clips of the speakers help acquaint the viewer more with who they are rather than anything really needing to be said outright about that. Then, I wrote a script to best capture the nature of the conference and set off to record it with the main speaker. The end result? A poetic marketing and stylized video that is ambiguous enough to watch on its own and enticing enough to see what the conference is actually about.
From there, all that was left was to cut together some Instagram stories and to animate the in-conference videos, including a timer countdown, speaker introductions, and introductions into the conference and post-intermission.
