'SEE CHANGE' INSTALLATION

‘See Change’ is a socially minded installation that was created to encourage the communities of Camberwell Green to voice thier opinions on what needs to change in their areas. Be it their homes, workplaces, schools or shared parks/community centers. The hope is to soon link it with Southwark council who are pouring £11million into the regeneration of Camberwell to help make the quality of living better.
DESIGN / CONCEPT

As apart of a university brief we were told to go out into London and create a enviromentally considered piece of design that
communicates any chosen subject and stands out from the more 2D/print based design that is more commonly seen. Recently I had moved
to Camberwell Green in London. When moving here I had noticed that the amount of crime, poverty, homelessness and under-developed areas around was more than I had seen previously witnessed. A change was needed. So it was then once the brief was presented to me
that I decided to go down the path of encouraging the communities of Camberwell to vocie there opinions on what needs changing by communicating amongst eachother through a council monitered website, and hopefully be a catalyst for change. Currently I am trying to link this with the Southwark council.
The wooden poles are used so that once the video is projected onto the sculpture the imagery will be fragmented and will look different from many view points. However it will all join smoothly at one, which the viewer will have to find by interacting with the installation to ‘see a change’ whilst trying to find the point where it all becomes clear.
