I had a chance to help my good friend Monami Frost - create a graphic design and identity for her newly opened diner place “Frost Burgers”.
A place with 100% plant based vegan burgers. And this is how we did it!

“Here, try this!” - Monami offered me to get a taste of something she’s been messing around in the kitchen for a while. It was a Burger she made herself combining various ingredients. “It’s all 100% plant based” she said while i was biting in the burger. “How is this possible?” it all tasted 10 times better than a regular meat burger. I was mind-blown right away. “Junk food for Vegans?” That’s epic!
It was more than a year ago. Since then we secretly worked on concepts and all the designs, basically day-dreamed how this place could look and feel. I think i had the easy part of the job as the biggest struggle was to find actual premises for this Burger Place. It was a long and hard process but we’re not pussies, and any problem is just another battle for us to fight and eventually win.

We both agreed that we don’t want this place to look like all the other plant based places - flowers, love, peace and hippy style. So i tried to keep way from all that and create the opposite. "Eat plants, save earth" illustration for flyers and plates.
Everything in the menu is 100% Plant Based, even the soda drinks. And the "frosty cone" is something everyone should try at least once in a lifetime.

Once Monami got the spot and i had some concrete walls to focus on, the fun part started.
She loved to play Mortal Combat when she was a kid and Sub Zero was one of hers fav characters. We decided we could play around with this theme by creating a scene on the walls where an intense battle is going on between my Kiwie character and a Frost Burger. A place where you fight with burgers. That was the seed concept idea for wall painting artworks.
Everything on the walls at Frost Burgers is hand painted with spray paint.
