Shayla Groves's profile

Angel Tree Branding

Because no child should be left out at Christmas, Angel Tree organizes and conducts an annual gift drive to provide presents to underprivileged children at Basalt Elementary and Middle Schools. Individuals, families, churches, businesses, and other groups generously step up to purchase new clothing and toys for more than 100 deserving children in our community. I'm part of a small group of moms that worked to bring the Angel Tree project to Basalt in 2018 for what we hope will become a tradition of giving. In addition to helping organize this first annual event, I volunteered my time to develop the logo and design many pieces of marketing collateral that were needed to get the project off of the ground. It was so rewarding, both professionally and personally! Through this project, my faith in the goodness of people has been reinvigorated. Our community was so generous in not only meeting, but exceeding the needs of these kids! I wish you could have been there in person to see the huge smiles on the children's faces when they met Santa and were presented with their gifts (see the video I produced below for a sneak peek!).
"Shayla, I hope you know that we could not have done any of this without your insane design skills! It's probably second nature to you, but to us it is magic. Thank you for making this project so easy. We make a great team!!!"

– Angela Anderson, Basalt Angel Tree Organizer

"We couldn’t have done anything without your skills or smile! I thoroughly enjoyed working with you, and I’m already looking forward to next year!"
