Athens - Cape Town

July - September '10
Started as a documenting road trip from Athens / Greece to Cape Town / South Africa by conventional, low emission vehicles, a sum of 17.000 km's. The surrounding imagery was more than overwhelming leaving only few choices of what to shoot and what one can actually transfer from real life to an optical medium in order to communicate it to the rest of the world.
Overall the trip was a massive endurance test as much to the group traveling as to the equipment used. Equipment in terms of cameras, lenses and peripherals, computers and cars. The route followed was Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and last stop South Africa.
On average driving about 400 k's a day, it took about 2 months to reach Cape Town. The images uploaded here is a first selection out of about 7.000 images. A video of the trip is also in the post production phase and should be released early January.
Any comments are more than welcome, please feel free.
