Albareh cordially invites you to an exhibition by Lebanese artist and sculptor Hussein Madi.
The opening will be on the 15th of January, 2013 at 7pm at Albareh Art Gallery with the presence of the artist. The exhibition will last until the 15th of February ,2013.
Hussein Madi was born in Chebaa, Lebanon in 1938. Madi lived between Rome and Beirut from 1973 – 1986, and eventually settled in Beirut in 1986. In Lebanon he taught sculpture and engraving at the institute of Fine Arts of the Lebanese University and, from 1958 to 1962, at ALBA.
Since 1965, Madi has had more than fifty solo exhibitions in Lebanon and internationally. In themselves, the exhibitions affirmed Madi's outstanding talents as a painter, sculptor, printmaker and designer.
Madi’s work has been shown at the Venice Biennial, the British Museum, and Tokyo’s Ueno Museum.
Madi is inspired by nature and he Joyfully experiments with color and form. His subjects are women,bulls, birds, trees...anything that has a beginning and an end.

This exhibition will showcase a collection of Madi's sculptures, collages as well as limited Lithographs and prints. The show is in collaboration with Aïda Cherfan Fine Art, Beirut.
