I've always loved Hanna Barbera cartoons. And one of the all time favorites is The Adventures of Johny Quest, of course. 

 

So obviously, I had to draw my own rendition of one of the herores of the show: Roger T "Race" Bannon.

Here's the lineart. If there is something I remember clearly about that show, it's that there were guns, giant mechanichal spiders and they were always running away. This was all due to the intro of the show, of course.

 

 

Clean and bright colors were not the norm for Johny Quest, but I wanted to try something a little bit different.

 

 

 

Just added some lights and shadows for some depth and we are done! I like the style of this one, looks bright and colorful like rainbows but gritty and somber as war. 

 

 

 

But then I tried some pure black shading to be a little more faithful to the show. I really changes the atmosphere and it looks good too.
