Talon Binding System

The Problem:
Splitboarding is incredibly efficient for mild inclines and soft snowboard boots offer great flexibility while in tour mode.  Problems arise when the terrain gets steeper and more exposed.  Large crampons strap onto flexible snowboard boots and allow a rider to ascend this type of terrain, yet these can be an unsafe connection compared to the hard shells of ski boots and mountaineering boots.

The Talon Platform
Talon is a splitboard binding that turns your soft boot into a hard platform to affix different devices to, including a two-piece crampon.  This creates a more solid connection between you and your crampons than a regular soft boot.  A large challenge in the development was creating a mechanism that works with the Voile/Spark pucks yet allows the rider to keep their feet strapped in while transitioning.  When not in use, the crampons break down and store in a much smaller envelope than normal universal crampons.
