The Following publication was made in answer to an editorial and typographic piece as a solution to a brief supplied Dublin Institute of Design, to create a publication which explores a concept in relation to an Author. My concept was "A Decent into Madness" which sought to showcase visually the descent into depression, alcoholism and ultimately the downward spiral Edgar Allan Poe faced in his later years. The Publication used the cryptography as a metaphor for Edgar's depraved life and utilized various works and quotes to emphasize the concept and how it visually mimicked the life of the renowned Author.

To accompany the editorial publication a Typography Specification book and Detailed strategy was made to annotate the vision and explain the metaphors and concepts behind every aspect of the creating of the publication.
