Design story: Deutsche Bahn wanted to introduce a new single sign-on service to new and existing customers across all DB apps. The goal was to provide better data protection and a seamless digital travel experience.
Design decisions: We took inspiration for the user flow from existing SSO service but also looked at how to simplify onboarding and account migration while ensuring all GDPR requirements where also addressed.
Way of thinking: Designing a new single sign-on service for Deutsche Bahn was a deceptively simple task. When designing this service, via UX research, we discovered a large number of edge cases that not only affected the user experience but also data flow.
