Repousse Wall Art
by Jeremy Maronpot
by Jeremy Maronpot
This copper wall sculpture was hammer formed from a single sheet of 16 gauge metal. The process is called repousse and chasing. Repousse is a technique of forming relief in sheet metal by pushing forward from the back side of the design. Chasing is impacting the metal from the front side and driving the material down. This sculpture was inspired by coral formations and measures about 25 inches in diameter. See more repousse and chasing at maronpot.com
