In 2017, I was approached by a client, Ben Lim and a few of his partners to come up with a logo for their upcoming project ; salted egg yolk chips.
Usually, Malaysians would have to flock to Singapore to get any salted egg yolk snacks. Be it fried fish skin, potato chips etc.
The logo started off with an idea of being family friendly. Our targeted market are working adults and families. Instead of being just eggs and salt, or using main ingredients as the logo to represent the brand, we went with a logo of a kid, with the look of excitement when seeing a packet of salted egg yolk chips.
I speak for us even as young working adults, whenever someone brings in snacks from overseas, or homemade, we would have that child-like excitement in us to get to eat good food while working, or being stuck in a meeting. I want to project that excitement in the logo.
