LE FACTEUR DE L'ESPACE - INTERACTIVE BOOK
The publishing house called 'La pastèque' specialised in youth comic books wanted to offer an educational device to children and to help them to develop their autonomy by the technological tools.
The space factor is a comic book for seven year old children. In space, Bob the factor loves his daily work. He delivers parcels in the galaxy. One morning, he has a problem at the Post office and must adventure himself in an other galaxy to deliver 5 parcels. The reader follows his adventures. This story fights against the misdeeds of routine and conveys the idea that even the unforeseen improves adaptability and enriches the personal experience. You must not be afraid of novelty.
To develop the child autonomy and his/her apprehension of unknown meetings, the interactive book is divided in two parts. One guided adventure in which the child discovers Bob's story linearly with few interactions. The other adventure is playful and autonomous. The child plays Bob's character and has delivery missions to achieve. The aim was to avoid to get away from Bob's story in the playful part. So we kept the 5 deliveries and thought about how to interact with in each different mission. We chose the tablet device because it was easier to manipulate for a child and for the parents to help their children with.
