The Absurdity of Meaning

The Absurdity of Meaning
Experiential

Challenge
For his solo exhibition “The Absurdity of Meaning”, Hong Kong artist Peter Yuill created a series of intriguing new works which articulate his philosophical and aesthetic journey into sacred geometry and nature mythology. The exhibition wanted guests to be able to take a piece of the experience home with them.

Solution
kith&kin crafted a VIP package that compliments the artist’s contemporary work. The VIP package was a collection of printed materials designed to give exhibition guests a memorable experience, even after they visited the gallery. The set included an exhibition booklet, an exclusive invitation card (with customised 3D deboss) and a set of postcards. The minimalistic direction was intended to let the art pieces speak for themselves while adhering to the overall aesthetics of the original exhibition. Our design was also extended to outdoor posters. It was a deliberate decision to use a set of 4 A1 size posters which, when put together, stood out from its surrounding images.

Impact
The exhibition was a success and was sold out. Since then, Peter Yuill has become an internationally recognised artist.
