"YPO KATASKEVI" (direct translation: under construction) is a framework of cultural and educational actions, that took place from May 28th to June 17th 2012 in Athens, in the premises of a listed Tannery dating from the beginnings of the 20th century. The actions included site specific Installation Art production, a photography exhibition, short-film screenings, art workshops (photography, video-art, interactive fashion design), lectures, round tables and music events.

The project aimed at turning the old tannery  -located in an underdeveloped area of the Greek capital- into a vibrant pole of attraction for the public of the city for as long as the activities lasted. In a broader perspective, the project’s intention was to capture the contemporary Greek cultural identity that is currently being formed through a dynamic process of exchange of ideas between academics, scientists / professionals, artists and audiences.
The photos come from a contemporary dance improvisation performed by Belleville, using the art installations as set and the intercative garments produced at the seminar as costumes. A mysterious interwaeving of simple interactive technologies with body movement and the scenario of each art installation!
