Break Time Recreation Guide | City of Chandler
Break Time, a guide for daily leisure and recreational opportunities in Chandler, unveiled a fresh, new look with its Fall 2018 issue. The guide’s dynamic redesign incorporates a modern logo, lively layouts and full-color photography, plus an evolved presentation that reflects today’s Chandler community. The guide continues to offer readers its signature classes and activities, while focusing on the diverse needs of East Valley families of all shapes and sizes.
Beginning with the Fall 2018 issue, the guide fine tunes its editorial focus with feature stories and new sections – making it easier for readers to “Discover, Imagine and Grow”:

· Each issue opens with a two-page program spotlight followed by a #LoveChandler testimonial where real participants can reminisce and react to their wins, fails and everything in between
· A new City Council callout is devoted to highlighting Councilmembers’ recreational interests and passions
· The back half of the guide now features need-to-know information regarding City facilities, parks and rental programs
· From a visual standpoint, the newly designed logo delivers a contemporary look. Along with clean, bold photography of actual Chandler Parks & Recreation participants, the update aims to showcase the authentic reality of today’s Chandler community and highlights the everyday fun of recreational programs.
Break Time reaches nearly 14,000 subscribed East Valley homes, along with another 11,000 community members with its grab-and-go copies in City facilities.
“I wanted more fun and more personal stories and perspectives to enhance our programming,” said Recreation Manager Joe Petrella. “The guide highlights the playful nature of Chandler, while facilitating a meaningful connection between our engaged readers and quality recreational programs.”

“On every page, there’s a reminder to celebrate life’s moments big and small,” said Petrella.
