Sometimes, they prayed in different directions because they had problems in finding out direction.
In 2004, Samsung realized this problem and released 'Mecca Phone'.
It had a program that taught Muslims the direction of Mecca and was a big hit.
These days, Muslims use smartphone apps to figure out the direction of Mecca.

이것이 이슬람교의 교리입니다.
과거에는 나침반을 이용해 메카의 방향을 찾았기에 많은 어려움이 있었기에 때로는 서로 다른 방향으로 절을 하기도 했습니다.
2004년에는 이러한 문제점을 파악한 삼성에서는 '메카 폰'을 출시하여 중동에서 히트를 치기도 했습니다.
이후 현재까지는 스마트폰의 보급으로 앱을 통해 그들은 메카의 방향을 파악합니다

We already have technology and we should not isolate them.
So I try to help their religious rituals by sense of touch.

기술의 발달이 사람들에게 많은 이로움을 주고 있지만 항상 소외되는 사람들이 있습니다.시각장애인들은 그들 중 하나입니다.
메카의 방향을 알려주는 많은 서비스들이 있지만 대부분이 시각적으로 이루어져있기에 시각장애인들은 타인의 도움없이 방향을 알기 어렵습니다.
우리는 이미 기술력을 가지고 있고 그들에게도 기술의 이로움을 누릴 수 있게 해주어야 합니다.그래서 나는 촉각을 통하여 그들의 종교적 의식을 돕고자합니다.
'qibla' is smart watch that uses the curved surface to tell the direction of Mecca and the position of sun.
'키블라'는 곡면을 사용하여 사용자의 위치로부터 메카의 방향과 해의 위치를 알려주는 스마트 워치입니다.

'qibla' has 2 type of use.
First one is just a watch, as general smart watch does.
Second one is compass to Mecca.
키블라는 일반 시계처럼 시계로 사용이 가능하고
메카를 향한 나침반으로도 사용이 가능합니다.
1. watch
As a watch, 'qibla' work like a watch.
When the Mecca button on the upper right is in,it acts as a clock.
The gold band represents minutes and the middle disc represents Hours.
You can touch and tell the time by the graduation on the rim.
You can use the right dial to change the time.
'키블라'는 시계로써 시계의 역할을 합니다.
오른쪽 상단의 메카 노크 버튼이 들어가 있을 때 시계로 작동합니다.
금색의 띠은 분을 나타내고 중앙의 원판은 시를 나타냅니다.
시계 가장자리에 위치한 양각 눈끔으로 촉각을 통하여 시간을 알 수 있습니다.
오른쪽의 다이얼을 사용해 시간을 바꿀 수 있습니다.
2. Compass
Press the square button in the upper right corner to switch to the compass mode.
By analyzing GPS, the middle black disk represents the direction of Mecca from the user's location.
오른쪽 상단의 메카 노크 버튼을 눌러 나침판 모드로 전환할 수 있습니다.
GPS를 분석하여 중앙 원판은 사용자의 위치로부터 메카의 방향을 가리킵니다.
Because Muslim praying times follow the position of the sun, praying times change every day.
To indicate prayer time, the gold band represents the position of the sun from the user's location.
The 12 o'clock direction indicates sunrise and the 3 o'clock direction indicates when the sun is highest.
From six to twelve o'clock, it means the night without the sun.

무슬림의 예배시간은 해의 위치를 기준으로 하기 때문에 예배시간은 매일 바뀝니다.
예배시간을 나타내기 위해 금색 띠는 사용자 위치로부터 해의 위치를 알려줍니다.
12시 방향부터 일출을 가리키고, 3시방향은 해가 가장 높이 떠있을 때를 알리며 6시방향부터는 해가 없는 밤을 의미합니다.
메카 노크 버튼을 눌러 시계 모드로 돌아갈 수 있습니다.

Ramadan is Islam religious observances held during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
From sunrise to sunset during Ramadan, Muslims stop the smoking, sex, eating, even drinking the water.
Even if you hungry you can eat after sunset.
라마단은 이슬람력 9월 한 달 동안 행해지는 종교적 의식입니다.
라마단 기간에 일출부터 일몰까지 무슬림들은 흡연, 섹스, 식사, 심지어 물을 마시는 것까지 금합니다.
아무리 배고파도 해가 지고난 후에야 식사를 할 수 있습니다.
'qibla' is also useful during the Ramadan.
In the compass mode, blind Muslims can know where sun is without any other help.
What they need is just press the button and feel the gold ring.

나침반 모드에서 시각장애인들은 해가 어디쯤 있는지 타인의 도움없이 알 수 있습니다.
그들에게 필요한 것은 단지 메카 버튼을 누르고 금색 띠를 만지는 것 뿐입니다.
