Verizon’s infrastructure was relatively unaffected by Sandy, but no matter how prepared wireless carriers are for catastrophes the devices they sell still rely on electricity from the grid—until now. By partnering with BioLite, a compact camp stove that converts fire into electricity, Verizon Wireless can ensure customers have a viable alternative for producing hot water and power in any situation.
