The brief given for this classroom assignment was to do a thorough study of 5 printing techniques, namely - Lino Printing, Serigraphy, Woodcut, Etching & Lithography.

Post the study of techniques, the brief was to select one artist representing each of the 5 techniques prominently through their art.

Since I wanted to gain knowledge about the printing craft in the context of India, I decided to study about Indian artists for all the 5 techniques. Thus, I chose Nandalal Bose for Lino Printing, Jyoti Bhatt for Serigraphy, Haren Das for Woodcut, Laxma Goud for Etching & Somnath Hore for Lithography.
