Your very own tree house high up above or a remote cabin deep in the woods – probably most of us know these childhood dreams. For some, these dreams never stop but are rather turned into reality. American cabin constructor Zach Klein has been collecting for years now on the blog cabinporn.com such stories of people from around the world who have made their childhood dreams come true. Out of these accounts of how to build your own cabin, a collected edition of the most remarkable, most eccentric constructions has grown.

The German-language edition entitled »Hütten« was published by Servus Verlag by Benevento Publishing, and we were assigned the task to design the book cover. Our main focus of attention was on making the topics of nature and wilderness palpable on the jacket. This is why we chose a mix of two materials: For the upper half of the book cover, we went for Halflinnen dark by Van Heck Textiles from the Netherlands. It has a very rough canvas structure and was silk-screened. For the pictorial lower half of the cover we used coated paper.
