Art Therapy – Editorial Design

Brief: Design and lay-out a magazine feature article that runs over at least three tabloid or A3 sized pages.
Outcome: I decided to focus on how art therapy can help adolescence and how it can be a substitute for antidepressants. This is what has influenced the narrative for my picture story. I aimed to make art therapy look contemporary and break it away from the stereotypical imagery associated with it. The imagery of art materials in medicinal boxes express how art therapy can be a substitute for medicine have been all taken by myself. The minimalistic aesthetic of the spreads is in contrast with imagery that is somewhat provocative within the specialised area of this topic. I have supplied a double page spread of rogues gallery of drawings that have been created in art therapy to put the process in perspective and show the reader how powerful and expressive the images produced are. Those images do express more than words could ever do.
