This is Photoshop rendering of the original rectangle with the grid of 10x6 circles. I've designed 3 diffrent versions by manipulating it with the wave filter and transform tool. The shapes were beveled to give it more 3D look. Finally I created GIF animation.
I made 3 stoneware slabs about 16" x 30" and transferred the printed design with tracing paper and water soluable marker on to it. I cut the shape with the X-Acto knife, smoothed the edges with the sponge and let drying on the wavy shaped base.
After glazing the pieces I made constuction from the bricks and metal rods to hang them inside the kiln.
