This summer 2020 we realized a new big community art project in a neighborhood of Nieuwegein (Utrecht). During the COVID-19 restrictions (1,5 m distance) it was a bit different then other years, but still very precious to work with volunteers from the neighborhood. It's nice to notice that many residents of the neighborhood are appreciating the positive vibes of the mural. They love the vibrant colors and smile when walking by. The names from the streets in this area are alle carriages, so we draw some parts of carriage pieces into the wings of the butterfly. In another part of the Neighborhood we painted a magpie carrying a horseshoe so the two murals are in harmony with the surrounding of the area. Thanks for everyone who was involved during this project. Special thanks to the municipality of nieuwegein who had the trust in me as an artist and resident to realize this project.
