YEAR OF DOG - New Year Card of 2018.
In Japan and some Asian countries, there is a zodiac calendar called 十二支 (Jūnishi). According to this, 2018 is the year of dog. To celebrate the new year, this special postcard was designed precisely, and produced in limited numbers. I also made some short movies and motion graphics for promotion.
DESIGN
The motif of this postcard is 'Dog' and 'Calendar'. A Chinese character '戌' (which means dog) was deformed into a dog's face shape. '1' of 2018 is placed on the right side of the dog, and is shaped like his ear. Other graphic elements are based on the calendar and designed as they indicate the date.
The whole design was hot stamped with gold foil on high quality paper Vent Nouveou V.
