Music News Today: Throughout the process of creating this website, I found that most music news sites don’t act as news websites but rather as sites where albums and songs are archived and can be played. To an extent, the latter functions have been provided, however, MNT focuses on providing information that is recent and trending. MNT recognises the subjectivity of music; the main feature of this website that differentiates it from others is that it allows users to personalise information so that their feed pertains to their musical preferences. Minimalistic and contemporary styling has been used to target a younger user demographic, and create clear functionality as opposed to focus on unnecessary styling that could obscure usability. Conventional news article features have been considered to allow users to draw parallels to common news articles on websites such as Stuff and NZ Herald.
Six user journeys were created- The images below depict the navigational aesthetics of each individual user experience.
User Journey 1: Allow user to personalise their site upon entry though selecting the genres and artists of most interest
