Gum Snail

Whew! Finally took the courage to put some extra effort and finish this personal project i loved so much to craft.

It was an intense creative process that ended up stuck in the drawer since late 2016 (almost a 1 and a half year) due to lack of free time to spare.

The main concept here was to try to playfully portrait small portions of trash merging with natural life on gardens, pedestrian islands or something like that, but i believe i was driven by the image, and in the end i was just making something that was eye-catching, since there was no compromise on getting deep in any major concept at all, i just let it happen and i ended up liking the result, so i'll declare it DONE. =)
These were the first reference files i took for inspiration on the mood, shading and elements i would like to portrait, like Bokeh effect, the dirt on the Gum tendrils being stretched etc.

So let`s get to work!
from left to right, some of the early steps of the 3d creation process. On the first image, i was still driven by the idea of the pedestrian/street Island but despite the good concept, it was hard to comprehend due to scale issues and the necessity of the depth of field to represent that scale, since it's a study, i restarted it with a different aproach.
