UN Exhibition Concept - The city as a narrative vehicle

Concept for the stand of the United Nations in the International Book Fair (FIL)
Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico
The proposal revolves around the dimensions of sustainable development and how the actions of individuals can help achieve this goal.
It is expected that by the year 2030 2/3 of the world population will live in urban areas.
The concept aims to describe this prediction.

From the simulation of a city, a call is made to reflect on the context in which millions of people live and show the positive effect that individual and collective actions can have as a result of an involvement with the work of United Nations Agencies.

One of the main characteristics of the concept is the possibility of transformation.
It is thought for future exhibitions and different uses. It uses environmentally friendly materials, recyclable and durable, and can be used in various scenarios, thereby increase their life time.
By having mechanically joined modular parts, storage, transport and installation are improved.

The space has elements of the city that range from large scale (city) to small interactions (objects and dynamics).
Daily household life elements such as "clotheslines", "water tanks" and furniture details are part of the dimensions that influence development.
These elements will be used to display promotional and dissemination materials, reports, etc.

The concept integrates the use of a forum for conferences and workshops.
This doesn't require extra furniture or storage space. All furniture fit under the main exhibition elements.

^ Q&A Graphic Puzzle storage space
A chart referring to the 2030 sustainable development goals agenda can be completed by visiting the different parts of the stand.
Storage space  ^
Extra materials can be stored in the center of the exhibition, taking advantage of the available corner space.

"Insignia" campaign & brand location
Content can be placed depending of the requirements of each agency. The system is flexible and adapts in terms of quantities and distribution. One of the elements can be used to place the main campaign "insignia".
