Roddy is set of garden furniture consist of a bench, an armchair, a chair and a table. The design is a proposal for a simple, ergonomic seating solution, not only for the outdoor use, because after the addition of upholstery it can also be used indoors. Its universal character can be seen not only in the possibility of using it in a variety of spaces, but also in its dimensions and limitless color options. The economic aspect, though, is most important, and it is that which influenced the choice of materials, technologies and also its final form. The main assumption was that the Roddy set became an alternative to the ‘supermarket’ garden furniture and was proposal ready to go into production. The initial ‘calculation’, in which the material used, sandblasting, powder coating and retail margin of 30% were all considered, showed that the armchair could reach the market at a price of 149 zł (35 eur).
