BON-BON Chair
During the designing of the chair the black chocolate color coated seat shell was a strong inspiration for me. I wanted to capture the character of the bonbons with appearance and taste. This resulted the designing of a confectionary chair that is based on the traditional confectionery, but it can also stand in modern confectioneries.
When designing the seating surface, I tried to make the guests feel comfortably relaxed even in masculine seating position, so the edges were closed and rounded in obtuse angle.
The frame of the chair was made via bending and welding of a stainless steel tubes of 16 mm diameter and 1 mm wall thickness. Its shape was characterized by four connections of Y-shape , the inspiration was the design of the legs of the Tonett B25 and 18 chairs. I tried to use this to make it rhyme and to provide a uniform appearance with the shape of the seat, be faithful to the traditional figure and keep the needs and tastes of today's users in mind.
Special thanks to LICIT Ltd. and Ply Design Ltd. for plywood seat shell.
