industrial waste with a second life.
The aim of this project was to develop a new product through recurring industrial waste. The purpose was to take advantage of the shape of the waste, in order to make the minimum changes possible. With this project, we can see that industrial waste materials can have the same credibility as more noble materials, that are normally used in the production of everyday objects.
While visiting the different factories, I noticed there was a waste that was really common between each one that was cardboard tube, used in the middle of cling film, to protect numerous object, and in the middle of fabric
Taking advantage of its shape, the first idea was to design a lamp, combining other materials.

This is a table lamp, with a direct light suitable for working.
It is constituted by a cardboard tube, plywood for the legs, wood for the support of the lamp (the part that fits in the back of the tube) and the knobs. Apart from these, it needs metal hardware and all the electrical part.
The knobs permit the change of the angle of the tube when unscrewed, and fixing it while screwed. The legs are connected by a wooden bolt.
Thanks for your attention!
