Färgfabriken

For our final project at Brobygrafiska we chose to do a redesign of Färgfabriken. Färgfabriken currently has an art gallery, a café and they also rent out their
facilities for events.

Our goal was to create a strong relationship between the visitor and the company.
We wanted the brand to feel fun, inspiring and to really differ from their competitors.

Färgfabriken should feel like a safe haven where people can express themselves, get inspired and just be. We added more color, more personality and a touch of playfulness to make sure the visitor feels at home.

In the new logotype we use two symbols - the wave that symbolises the water that runs outside the main building. The triangle represents architecture and has the shape of the roof of Färgfabriken.

The icons in the logo can be used without the text or with the text and without the symbols. The square shape of the logo is more dynamic than the old and is easily placed as a frame around different branded objects. The Logotype can be used in different color combinations, but preferably with a particular color base for each part of the facility, for example - always a pink color base in the Café and so on.
The typeface is modern, has a good character and goes well with the history and age of Färgfabriken.
Different ways the logotype is applied.

We use the Typeface "Opposit" for big headlines. With "Opposit" we create recognition and help distinguish Färgfabriken from other galleries. "Adieu" is used for medium sized heading and just like Opposit it has a distinct character but it is easier to read. For body text we use "Roboto" since it is easy to read and works well for both prints and web design.
When we chose the colors for the new identity for Färgfabriken we wanted to bring out the history and the name of the brand by letting more color take place. Färg means Color and Fabriken means The Factory.
The primary color is the strong blue that we use in text and the logotype etc. We created a color scheme  with four different colors that all goes well with our blue color. All the four parts of Färgfabrikens gets it’s own color. A calm beige for art, a vibrant orange for event, a mellow pink for café and a mild light blue for project and workshops. We also use a white color when we need contrast. When we want to communicate the whole brand we use the primary blue.
The pattern is used on different branding material such as cups and beer. Just like everything else in the identity the shapes are color coordinated.
the graphic shapes we use in the pattern is inspired by the shapes we use in the logotype.

In our new application you can book your own workspace where you can sit and study/work for free. When you feel hungry or thirsty you can easily order food or drinks directly to your workplace and pay through the application.
You can also book workshops and lectures. You can see when they start and how much they cost etc.
Here we showcase the different parts of the website. We also walk you through a scenario in the application where you first book a place to study/work and then order food and a drink and pay directly through the application.

The music is made by my friend Alexander Andrae.
