Black Flag 1976 - 1986

First of all i want to say that this is not a real record from the band Black Flag, this is a tribute to punk rock. I have no relations to the band what so ever.

When i started collecting records i was fascinated how many prints you can fit in one package and how different they all can look. You have the record cover, the sleeves, the labels, and maybe a lyric book and a poster (sometimes even more).
I listen to music all the time, not just punk rock, but all kinds. I always wanted to do my own record and I had an idea for Black Flag, and this differs alot from all of their other records. One of the reasons i did a record is because that it is something i want to work with in the future, designing record covers.
The logo is is a black flag and probably the most iconic logo in punk music, you see it pretty much everywhere, i wanted to work with that. Raymond Pettibon is the man behind the black flag logotype.

When you open the record I want you to get the feeling that this is maybe what it felt like to be at a punk rock show back in the day. It's suppose to feel like chaos.
This whole project was made by me at my school Broby Grafiska and no mockups were used.

I do not put any political values into this project, I just like the band.

Hope you like it!

For the gatefold I printed out pictures from old punk rock shows, and used duct tape and a scanner.
It's not only images from Black Flag shows it's also from Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains and some other bands.
Disc 1 has a black inner sleeve and a black vinyl. The record i put the labels on was actually a Beatles record.
Disc 2 has a white inner sleeve and a white vinyl
A book with all the song lyrics
Black flag logo in black or white.
Process
This is the whole crafting process where i show you how i did the collage. Picture number two is how it is printed on the UV-printer. Picture three and four is the Kongsbergs-table where you cut out the different prints.
Construction

I opened up an old record i had at home and started to measure the different parts it helped me figure out how it was folded and cut. I haven't worked with packaging construction before but I learnt how to use artiosCAD.

The red lines are the crease lines (that's where you fold) and the white lines are cut lines.
The cut file for the record.
The cut file for the record sleeves.
The cut file for the labels that you put onto the records, since it's two records and each record has two sides there are four labels.
