In early April, NWACC or Northwest Arkansas Community College had hired me to work on a new logo design for their Student Services division. Their Student Services division needed a logo that could show students that the many people who work at NWACC are here to help them. Whether it was difficulties with financial aid, tutoring, or just needing someone to talk to the many people at Student Services were there.

This is my sketches for the logo for NWACC Student Services. There were several ideas that I had thought about with the concepts of time, eyes, and moving forward in life. I started to think about arrows and how they have been used in media as a path or showing off multiple paths towards unknown destinations. I worked on some small sketches with some interesting results.

After I briefly sketched my ideas down I started making rough vector builds of several arrow ideas. It took some time before I would decide on the final mark for NWACC Student Services. I knew I wanted several arrows going in alternate directions to convey the idea of multiple pathways given to the student. In order to make it friendly to the students I made the arrows rounded along with the rounded rectangle that was applied to it. An arc was added to show a hill that could point the student forward into their future.

These are several different variations on the logo with text placement experimentation. The text that was chosen is called Avenir Next Demi Bold for both "NWACC" and "Student Services" to keep a consistency with NWACC's main logo type.

Here are several different color options that were considered for the final look of the project. In the end I decided using the blue and green color combinations since blue is generally considered a peaceful, calm color. The colors of the logo should make it look friendly to the students and green and blue were combinations that suited the friendly look Student Services was looking for.
