SOLUTION
The inspiration for the typeface came from the coast of Charleston, South Carolina and the beautiful, weight-shifting serifs of the existing typeface, Didot. The structure of each letterform is based on the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston. This typeface would be used in areas associated with the bridge, particularly in the Charleston City Marina and surrounding areas.
