Κόκκινη κλωστή δεμένη - (a short fairy tale)

Many years ago, when my grandmother was asked to tell us a fairy tale, she was always happy to oblige. Every tale started with the following charming words:
"κόκκινη κλωστή δεμένη, στην ανέμη τυλιγμένη, δώστης κλώτσο να γυρίσει, παραμύθι ν' αρχινίσει…"
"red thread wrapped around a loom, give it a swift kick to spin & let the fairy tale begin…"
I love telling a good story. I had the chance to visually tell one for a good friend of mine. The inspiration came from my Giagia, the Greek word for Grandma. When I was a kid,  I often asked my grandmother to tell us a fairy tale, and she was always happy to oblige. Every story started with the following charming words. "Red thread wrapped around a loom, give it a swift kick to spin & let the fairy tale begin…".

Similarly, this custom invitation is handmade from start to finish. It tells the story of the couple (meeting & falling in love). The red thread is wrapped around the sealed invitation, thus implying a bond (continuation) between the fairy tale itself & real-life stories. At the same time, the invitation doubles as a guessing game. Every panel inside has a missing word that must be filled in. By doing so, the story becomes complete & makes sense. Visual clues for the missing words can be found on each of the illustrated folds.
"and they lived happily ever after"
