Thrift Store Inspiration

I frequent thrift and antique stores looking for inspiration for my art. In these places, you come across some of the most unusual things, and the odd part is the fact that someone out there wants these things. Enter creepy baby inspiration: this little cutie caught my eye and made it's way to canvas.

Inspiration:
Materials:
-Acrylic paint
-india ink
-graphite
-fluid acrylics
-booger
Progress:
Choosing a background color can really change the whole feel of a piece of art. Sometimes I will paint a background two or three times trying the get the right feel and this piece was no exception. The blue felt to angelic, and the green too toxic. I thought about going back to the original white but it had too much of a crisp, unfinished feeling.
Completion:
I ended up deciding on a mix of the three colors I had experienced with earlier in the process. The outcome is terrifying and this piece now sits facing the wall, as I'm sure I captured a spirit and it's now full of ghosts.
Oh Baby.
