Your Big Day logo

I was commissioned to create a logo for a local business that specializes in wedding and event planing. The client wanted something that look hand-stamped with a little grit, to set her apart from the rest of the event planners in the city. This is where I came in. I decided to hand-draw the logo and then bring it into Adobe Illustrator, to make it vector and usable on all platforms.

Process:

Many sketches were done, along with meetings and a string of emails, before the final result was reached. Below you will find a peek into a few of the process sketches. "Louisville" was dropped from the logo to create an easier to read, more bold logomark.

Result:

After uploading the logo I drew into Illustrator, a distressed pattern was added to give the logo the grit that was needed. Overall I think this gave the piece a more personal feel, and more approachable to clients for this company. The research of other event planners in the city mostly use their initials, and they get a little lost within each other in my opinion. This is different and will be noticed. The below images include the logo in both black and white, as well as on a stock wedding photo to show how it would look in use.
