Collaborate & Solve - Sheep Worrying

Collaborate & Solve - Sheep Worrying
Winchester School of Art, Year 2 Semester 1 Project 3 (Group Project)

For this project we were split into groups and asked to find a problem in our local area and solve it. Being close to Salisbury Plain I know that there are a lot of problems with sheep worrying caused by dog owners either not being aware of rules or not paying attention to their surroundings. We decided to create a dog walking app that would notify walkers when nearing red zones (areas marked as having livestock). Farmers and livestock owners would log into the app and add and remove red zones as they move their animals.

The app would allow walkers and livestock owners to work together to solve the problem, would have a social aspect and also would be socially policed as other walkers would be able to report walkers whose dogs weren't on the lead. The app would also be accompanied by signage and a social media campaign to raise awareness.
