This photo series shows scenes where organic materials of nature come in contact with inorganic materials made by man. There is no clear winner of the confrontations, as there are examples of both nature overtaking creations of man and vice versa. There is power behind both forces and this series of images captures the struggle between two such powerful forces of Earth. The series is roughly split half and half between the ‘victor’ of each battle. However, this is ultimately a subjective matter and depends on how each viewer interprets the image. Each image also has a flat and graphic quality to them, using close up shots and flat angles to create a mostly abstracted image. The abstraction of the images forces the viewer to take time to fully understand what they are looking at in the image. This time, or duration, represents the time it takes for the process of nature taking over the man-made (or vice versa) to take place.
