Light On Your Feet - Silent Dance Party
With a sound curfew at 10pm, Yonge-Dundas Square is usually a somber and quiet place. But on this special night, party ravers were able to let loose by syncing their mp3 players to a curated playlist compiled by DJ AC Slater and dance their night away. Crowds formed to witness the amusement of a silent gathering, dancing to what appeared to be
no music.

Dozens of balloons were strung above the square with LED lights inside, that responded to the noise of the crowd below. When folks passed through Yonge-Dundas Square, they usually don’t have any control over the media or sound that surrounds them. This installation let patrons feel more at home because for once, the people were in control of the space.
