An expanded Burnaby Mountain tank farm, adjacent to Simon Fraser University and residential areas of Burnaby, including two elementary schools, will have 26 tanks each of an average capacity of 216,000 barrels holding up to a total of 5,616,000 barrels of volatile, explosive and toxic gasoline, diesel, iso-octane, and dilbit—more than 100 times greater than carried by the Lac Megantic train which incinerated 47 people.
