Double Height Dots

In an attempt to push the limits of the UV printer, we created Braille with a dot height twice that of traditional embossing. This creates a kind of domed cylinder rather than a traditional Braille dot, yet it reads the same and is high enough that the substrate does not factor in to the feeling of the dots when read.

While the practical applications of this "font" are limited, Braille is traditionally quite restrictive in what can be changed. This means that on the rare occasion that we discover elements that can be adjusted without interfering with established rules, then it must be noted in the hope that it might serve a purpose in the future.

A UV printed Braille font, that is twice the height of traditional embossed Braille.
