The following hand-rendered posters signify a fictional exhibition of calligraphist David Milan's artworks. With the close following of his projects and my interest in calligraphy, I created handwritten posters and leaflets to advertise in a cognate and appropriate manner his approach to art. The credibility of hand work is preserved in order to demonstrate in a distinct and unambiguous way the magic which calligraphy can conceive and its huge potential in the design field.
This brief asks for the development of an identity and a visual system for a fictional touring exhibition. In order to conceive this task, an awareness and a depth of knowledge of contemporary practice relating to locations, context and audience is required. A sense of place and community are to be acted upon visually and appropriately to the subject matter.
